Windows installation

While running WinNet natively in a Windows environment is possible, many commands within the accompanying Python scripts are optimized for UNIX systems. In this section, we provide a brief overview of using an Ubuntu emulator under Windows. Since Windows 10, the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) has been seamlessly integrated into Windows. A detailed installation guide can be found here.

The installation process is straightforward and can be completed by opening PowerShell as an administrator and entering the following command:

wsl --install

Once installed, you'll have the capability to launch a shell within an Ubuntu environment. From there, you can proceed to install WinNet by following the instructions outlined in the Linux installation guide.
